RE: SDISO Compatibility List - DJ VECTORMAN - 08.02.2011 15:17 Why cant it work on dc? LOL yes there is kega fusion that plays 32x and sega cd ive been playing it for years on PC, it plays all 5 formats. Kega Fusion 3.51 Wanna see screenshot me using it windows 98 pc? Here : So if it works on my 1998 computer why cant it work on dc windows ce via sd card? I even heard old dos pc games were converted and can be played on dc. RE: SDISO Compatibility List - arthur2shedsjackson - 08.02.2011 16:32 Dj Vectorman, if it doesn't already exist on the dreamcast (and it doesn't) this means you would have to port it yourself. This is a discussion about the SDLoader - not about you writing (or wanting someone else to write...) an emulator for the dreamcast. If you had done some research you'd know that. Just because you run it on windows 98' doesn't mean it is now available of the dreamcast. I thought that much would be obvious to you. Anyway - Perhaps you should be looking at some dreamcast 'emulation' websites and forums and not here? I just want to add that I think you have a valid request - but I think you're looking in the wrong place, that's all. RE: SDISO Compatibility List - DJ VECTORMAN - 09.02.2011 02:48 First of all im answering ant that a sega emu can play all 5 formats. Look on dc emu uk forum forum, im there. Look on sega forums im there. Obviously im just asking a simple question, im no expert in porting nor on what dc COULD run on win CE. Its a compatibility thread, wanted to know if kega fusion was ported like nes emu, nesterdc and it was compatable. Obvious since nes emu loaded on to dc tested and works. Common sense. The sd adapter seems useless for dc games anyway since they run slow or not at all and like 2 games fully work. I dont appreciate your smug comments, ive been researching info on dc sd cards and its 1 or 2 fully running dc games and some emus running decent...and this forum has the most info on it so far but the info needs and will be organized better according to ant. Alot of people i see have dreamshell burn questions etc. Are you going to go in questions or help threads and tell people its "obvious" etc as well ha ha? If i can play youtube videos in my dc, surely someone could port kega fusion one day then. Peace. RE: SDISO Compatibility List - Anthony817 - 09.02.2011 09:14 Sure, it could be possible to port it, but this late in the game, I don't see many emulators getting made anymore from scratch or ported from PC. Please don't take offence, it is just that when someone only wants to know about a certain emulator, and always types in caps(not your fault I realize this ) it could start to annoy some people. Meybe you could start a thread about it over at Dreamcast emulation or DCEmu forums. Then you could start talking about porting it. Please, just don't knock it till you try it, it is still an amazing peice of hardware nonetheless. RE: SDISO Compatibility List - ands - 15.02.2011 23:41 forgive for my bad english. first I have made drunk itself here is such thing: I today tried play: Resident Evil CODE: Veronica (PAL) (Pirate Rip Studio RGR) Boots? Yes Playable? Yes Tested on: DreamShell 4.0.0 Beta 4 (sdiso module v0.2.1). Notes: little holds up video. Reported by: Ands. Gauntlet^ Legend (PAL) (Pirate Rip Studio Kudos) Boots? Yes Playable? No Tested on: DreamShell 4.0.0 Beta 4 (sdiso module v0.2.1). Notes: little holds up video. In tower is played as soon as become on circle , loading and black screen. Reported by: Ands. tomorrow continue experiments RE: SDISO Compatibility List - DJ VECTORMAN - 18.02.2011 15:58 ^ Thx for info, i hope all you guys keep posting pics, adding info, what games works, etc here. RE: SDISO Compatibility List - rouken - 24.02.2011 18:50 I want to know if Street Fighter Alpha 3 runs in the SD card... I tried and nothing, but I don't know if I do it in the right way (I got the game released by Tux and converted it to ISO). RE: SDISO Compatibility List - drez01 - 28.04.2011 03:23 Quake 3 Arena (NTSC) Boots? Yes Playable? Yes Tested on: DreamShell 4.0.0 Beta 4 Notes: Works 100%, Disable music and q3 does not read from sd card after the map has loaded so there is no lag at all, I also tested online. Reported by: drez01 Download Quake 3 Arena for SD iso with ripped music and INTRO (only 200 megs!) here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=BM5DJWVK I should mention that if you tried to do this yourself it would not work. This is a modified version (by me) and has a different 1ST_READ and working IP.bin thus why it works with DreamShell. Plus it has some added PC maps. More info on this version can be found @ http://dreamcast.onlineconsoles.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=9693 RE: SDISO Compatibility List - Mr. Og - 18.05.2011 15:08 Some games I tested: Power Stone (NTSC-U) Boots? Yes Playable? Partially Tested on: DreamShell 4.0.0 Beta 4 (sdiso module v0.2.1). Source: Kalisto release Notes: Must start with no VMU inserted. Intro hangs if left to play. Can be choppy depending on character selected (probably because of the different music), for example if I choose Ayame there are little to no lags, if I choose Jack it's very choppy. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (NTSC-U) Boots? Yes Playable? Yes (Fully) Tested on: DreamShell 4.0.0 Beta 4 (sdiso module v0.2.1). Source: Kalisto release Notes: Couldn't find anything wrong with it. Revolt (NTSC-U) Boots? Yes Playable? No Tested on: DreamShell 4.0.0 Beta 4 (sdiso module v0.2.1). Source: Kalisto release Notes: Displays weird behaviour - can't start racing, game does not hang but for some reason the gas button does not work, not only for you but for your opponents as well. Practice mode works. Gauntlet Legends (NTSC-U) Boots? Yes Playable? No Tested on: DreamShell 4.0.0 Beta 4 (sdiso module v0.2.1). Source: Kalisto release Notes: Hangs upon entering the first stage. Chu Chu Rocket (NTSC-U) Boots? No Playable? No Tested on: DreamShell 4.0.0 Beta 4 (sdiso module v0.2.1). Source: Kalisto release Notes: Couldn't get it to boot. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? I have a few questions: 1. Skies of arcadia is listed as playable - I did get the GD-ROM dump to work but I don't know how would I go about changing the disc when needed? Or maybe I was supposed to copy the files from both GDs to the iso_make\cd dir and create one big ISO? 2. I couldn't find any easy to understand English tutorial for creating ISOs for SDISO. I use the "Updated ISO Make pack" and copy the files to the cd folder then I try either Hack_LBA.bat+Create_katana_ISO.bat or just Create_katana_ISO.bat (I try both to see which one works). So my question is: Apart for a case when the 1st_read.bin file is named something else, is there anything else to try if the game doesn't work? And for GD dumps, should I do something with the ip.bin file I get from GDI2data? Because SoA worked fine without the ip.bin. 3. I there any way I can mesure the speed of the SD card read/write in DreamShell? And I don't mean something like copying a file from the CD to the SD, I was thinking about an application. 4. just how much speed increase will I get after removing these caps: http://f17.aaa.livedoor.jp/~takotako/dcpprip/dc_serial_pcb.jpg ? RE: SDISO Compatibility List - SWAT - 21.05.2011 12:18 Good job Mr. Og. 1. In this case, still does not work: ( 2. IP.BIN using from "sys" directory in the iso_make pack. Rename other.bin files to 1ST_READ.BIN 3. Speed of SD card depends on the CPU load, since SPI protocol is emulated them. 4. You can try, but is not likely you get big speedup. RE: SDISO Compatibility List - Mr. Og - 22.05.2011 08:14 (21.05.2011 12:18)SWAT писал(а): Speed of SD card depends on the CPU load, since SPI protocol is emulated them. I see. So I guess that for most games SD card will never be a viable option. Thanks for replying, SWAT. RE: SDISO Compatibility List - SWAT - 22.05.2011 19:31 Yes, this is so. But the work carried out in other directions RE: SDISO Compatibility List - Angreifer - 15.06.2011 06:25 The following Beats of Rage mods have been successfully converted to sdiso format by myself and can be downloaded at http://www.dcisozone.com. Yes Playable? Partially Tested on: DreamShell 4.0.0 Beta 4 (sdiso module v0.2.1). Source: Cd rip. Notes: Music doesn't work properly. Only Prologue and Aquamarine bay working. When second level is loading, screen goes black forever. Gameplay is laggy when music is playing, then music stops and gameplay is fluent. You have to rename 0.BIN to 1ST_READ.BIN. Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver (NTSC-U) Boots? Yes Playable? Yes Tested on: DreamShell 4.0.0 Beta 4 (sdiso module v0.2.1). Source: Cd rip. Notes: Movies doesn't work (u have to press start). Mini lags when textures are loading. The game is probably fully playable. The House of The Dead 2 (NTSC-U) Boots? Yes Playable? Yes Tested on: DreamShell 4.0.0 Beta 4 (sdiso module v0.2.1). Source: Cd rip. Notes: Many lags. Probably fully playable, because lags works as pause mode. Cool Cool Toon (NTSC-J) Boots? Yes Playable? Yes Tested on: DreamShell 4.0.0 Beta 4 (sdiso module v0.2.1). Source: Cd rip. Notes: Movies doesn't work. Sometimes lags ruins gameplay and it's not comfortable to play rhythmic game with even mini lags. Rayman 2: The Great Escape (PAL) Boots? No Tested on: DreamShell 4.0.0 Beta 4 (sdiso module v0.2.1) & Beta 3 Source: Cd rip. Notes: Doesn't boot, Reset after loading 1ST_READ.BIN. Illbleed (NTSC-J) Boots? No Tested on: DreamShell 4.0.0 Beta 4 (sdiso module v0.2.1). Source: Cd rip. Notes: Doesn't boot. Only black screen. (Echelon release with cracktro) Space Channel 5: Part 2 (NTSC-J) Boots? No Tested on: DreamShell 4.0.0 Beta 4 (sdiso module v0.2.1). Source: Cd rip. Notes: Doesn't boot. Only black screen. Evil Twin: Cyprien's Chronicle (PAL) Boots? Yes Playable? No Tested on: DreamShell 4.0.0 Beta 4 (sdiso module v0.2.1). Source: Cd rip (dc_res edition) Notes: Dreamcast Resurrection edition without Echelon cracktro - boot, but not playable. I hear intro music but then nothing happens. Screen is black all the time. Crazy Taxi [U] - doesn't boot. Reset after loading 1ST_READ.BIN. I used 1ST_READ.BIN from GD-ROM dump. Beta 3 & Beta 4 tested. Sonic Adventure 2 The Trial - trial game is fully playable but performance isn't smooth. It has about 20 fps because mini lags. Also those lags involve main character control process. What's Shenmue (demo disc) - doesn't boot. Cd rip. Beta 4 tested. Rez [E ](dc_res version) - doesn't boot. Cd rip. Beta 4 tested. Rez [J] - doesn't boot. GD-ROM dump. Beta 4 tested. K-Project Rez Beta - boots, but stuck on loading screen. Cd rip from GD-R. I think it won't work because serial port was used for debug. Beta 3 & Beta 4 tested. Carrier Beta [J] - boots. Playable partially. Lots of beta bugs. Cd rip from GD-R. Beta 4 tested. Shadow Man [E] (dc_res version) - boots, but freeze on "Press Start Button" screen. Beta 4 tested. Rayman 2 [U] (dc_res version) - doesn't boot. Reset after loading 1ST_READ.BIN. Beta 3 & Beta 4 tested. I can't seem to make it boot, i tried JAP, USA and EURO versions, i've the last version of DreamShell at the moment.. If anybody knows how to make it work please tell me, i'm really interested. Also, i'll be trying other games and post my report but i think someone should make a definitive SDISO Compatibility List (Wikipedia maybe?). |
