Ok in fact I checked,it's not the name of the folder,and not the name of *.gdi.
So when I create the shorcut,it makes automaticaly a name.dsc (I think it take the name in track01.bin).
So it's here where need to reduce the name

I finished SOA after 45 hours ^^,and works perfectly on Dreamshell
I checked my list at the moment with SSD,and I have a problem with Bust a move 4..wince games...
Random freeze in intro..or during the game... and you?

So during the day..I updated my list to check SSD and other config...very long !!!
I deleted the wrong configurations to keep only the good ones (it is useless to keep when lag).
So for this list I tested : IDE CF SATA and SSD....
If I say nothing,the game it's compatible FOR ME,for all supports (ide cf...etc..)
If not I add in Notes the config.
This list it's for help you if you don't find the good config,because for the moment I didn't find an list compatible with RC4 and OPT.
If a game for you have a better config,or anything you can tell me,no problem.
But just for that ^^ after if it's not ok for you,I repeat make your list,my list it's just for help you !

it's depend of the dreamcast,if the dreamcast can't read 3.5 sata,it can't read sata 3. I don't know why but it's like that FOR ME.
I have many dreamcast,and 2 dreamcast don't want to read sata 3 or sata 3.5.
And it's not "Power Supply", but it comes from GDROM.
Because I tried changing the power supply ... and NOTHING.
And If I change the GDROM I can read the 3.5 and sata 3 !!

I don't know if there are anothesr versions of those games, there are not really official but almost. Maybe You can add them to the list. I did a try with half life but it does'nt work but I didn't try every configurations.

Hello fafadou, that is not really nice to tell some one to test all configuration.
Especially when you can.
I mean if you really want to play those games, go ahead and test it for 3hours ore more, who am i to stop you? You just need to thick here and there and sit and wait.
But as a mater of fact those games don't work yet, for halflife i'm sure, swat said it himself not so long ago.
tomjam & earl III i think also found somewhere recently that they don't work.
geist force also should be problematic.
But if you manage to run geist force, i will applaud you. This one really interests me.
And please, no direct links to games.

No I can't do them for now, I'm waiting for stuff, I have only a sd card reader and it's not really the best way.
I just discover the dreamshell, I'm a new user.

I had a Dreamcast Japan (Mother VA0) and i have successfully mod hdd an all OK
But i have a problem with games that i change any presets.
Choose game, change presets, mark "set as preset", click save and game work.
But after reboot dreamcast and same game not work next time
GDI black screen and a lot white letters
CDI freeze
If delete presets (IDE/DS/APPS/ISO LOADER/PRESETS game begin work again until mark "set as presets"
It not mark "set as preset" work fine but every time need change presets

Presets it's in your hdd?
If YES..it's normal... I already say here... the only solution it's use SD card on Serial Port ! (Look previous posts ^^)
With SD for dreamshell,and HDD for games..no problem !

I would avoid presets like plague, i hade many problems with them, other users had many problems with them.
But, *there is a solution*. On DS 4rc4 there is this awesome feature in isoloader "create shortcut" (This feature is not present on ds 4rc3.). It's your best fried. I found it not long time ago, and can't imagine how i could live without it.
So when you open isoloader settings, you configure your game, and then in upper right there ar icons, find "create shortcut" and voila, you have a shortcut on desktop.
Awesome. And the best part, i never had any problems, they don't disappear, they don't crash DS. It's just works. This made DS so much practical and enjoyable to me.
And for ds4rc3 you can still create those shortcuts manually if you want.
I still use ds4rc3 for some games, because they work better, or don't work on 4rc4. Just look at created shortcuts with 4rc4 as example.

don't ask me why I try this game ^^
I have done others attemps for half life and geist force without success for the moment.

Just when you add a game (and others),please specify the hard disk > IDE CF SATA SSD and the support > CDI GDI OPT ISO... (GDI and OPT the best !!)
And you say "boot with 0x8cfe8000 with no dma and cdda"
DMA normaly it's not activate in GDI..so you tested in OPT..? Or just if you put dma black screen?
So I will test your game..I must ^^
Normaly Half Life doesn't work..

CF&SATA&SSD (no test in ide)
GDI and OPT
CDDA
Works perfectly like that

works with sd card reader, except cdda sound.

The game runs perfectly from an SD card reader on a standard Dreamcast. Simply drag the files onto your SD card and run the .gdi file to get it up and running with none of the glitching associated with an emulator.
note the lack of music is possibly due to Dreamshell not supporting CDDA audio...whatever that means!
