Hi, SWAT, and megavolt85...
Congratulations on finally cracking the HOLLY protection, megavolt85.
I'm really curious to know how you did it, but I'm sure you will tell us one day.
I've tried the no-GDROM BIOS, but I can't get it to boot properly from HDD at all though?
It seems to boot from SD card if I remove the DS folder from the HDD, but then the HDD won't even show in the File Manager?
I've tried re-formatting the HDD with FAT32, and used the BIOS image and DS_CORE.BIN you posted in this thread (over-writing the latest DS_CORE from github).
When I try adding the DS folder to the HDD only, it tries to read at the bootloader stage, but then just freezes?
I've done the 33MHz mod on the DC mobo as well. It's a VA1 PAL model.
The one I'm using has the Dev Box / Link83 boot logo version (DBS).
Has anyone else managed to get the no-GDROM drive version working yet, and which method did you use to bypass the 33MHz requirement?
Can anyone show a DC booting DS from a HDD with the GD drive completely unplugged / removed?
I would really love to get this working, as I want to make a DC laptop soon, or at least a slim DC with no GD drive, and HDMI output.
Have you seen my DC HDMI mod btw?
