DreamShell BIOS won't detect G1-ATA devices properly

I've recently installed a custom BIOS chip and flashed it with the DreamShell Bootloader ROM and now whenever I boot up the console and skip the intro animation too fast it does not detect any G1-ATA devices and just hangs. Is this a common problem or is there something wrong on my end?

If I let the intro animation play for a few seconds the IDE devices are detected properly btw.


EDIT: Seems like it's a problem with the CF card I'm using - it's a 256 GB card so that might explain why the detection process takes a while.
