Using Dreamshell Boot loader to boot from CD?

Hi all,

I have just installed a flash bios mod on my dreamcast and have now flashed it to the Dreamshell boot loader.

However, I don't yet have the SD card reader and am now unable to get back to an original Dreamcast bios as I can't seem to boot from CD using the boot loader.

Any clues?

Why can not you boot from CD?
Put the DS folder on the CD and just burn it as data.
Not use CDI image! You can get DS folder from "DreamShell 4.0 RC 1 + Boot Loader" archive.

Yes, this is what I tried but it still won't work.

I burned a Data CD at 4x with the DS folder in the root but its still a no go

Quite strange then, I though it was me doing something wrong?

The DS_CORE.BIN loaded by boot loader from paths /cd/DS and /cd, try to put DS files to root, maybe this help...
Boot loader showed error message?

I tried making CD's with the DS folder in the root and with the contents of the DS folder in the route directory as well, but still does not work.

I can't work it out at all

I burned them at 4x using both DAO and TAO as data discs or media I know to work with my Dreamcast....but nothing

I have used windows 7 and nero to burn them

lol, very true Mine has now arrived so this is no longer a problem as I can now boot form the SD adapter

However, I have just flashed my DC bios to the Dreamshell boot loader, which loads up fine and loads up the full dreamshell from the SD card. I then go to launch a game (quake III in this case) and it just resets back to the loader.

I can load and run the game ok from the SD card when I boot up with the dreamshell disc but not from the bios...any clues as to why?

I am using the Dreamshell "bootloader with bios"

Change params in iso loader app to high memory and select bootstrap 1.
