Fixed aborting for data transfer commands in syscalls emulation. Now I can run all 2k2 and ooga booga from my CF too. Maybe SATA fixed too.

Updated: I re uploaded this build with small fix for Deep Fighter, now it's runs from high memory.

Last preset I used for unreal : Unreal tournament : now run with true dma, no irq and SQ tmu1 for cdda

But it was with previous loader (number 36 I believe) don't know if it still works.

Ok, so I ran into a bit of a problem. I got a new SanDisk Extreme Pro 256GB CF card and while DreamShell detects it fine, I'm not able to boot a lot of games. Namely the Visual Concepts games. Is there anything about this card that would cause a problem @SWAT? The Transcend card I had before worked perfectly but this one seems to have compatibility issues.

I use the same SanDisk Extreme Pro but for 128GB. It’s works perfect for me with Visual Concept games and other that can abort commands.

Really strange. I can't boot any of the VC games, even with low-level or 0.7 via RetroDream. Seems most other games are fine. Tried doing a full format on the CF but didn't make a difference. Same exact files on my HDD and CF but works fine on the HDD, not on CF.

Edit: I just remembered that I have a 32GB SanDisk Extreme that has the same issue. Bought it a long time ago and couldn't get the VC games to run from it. All the same specs (UDMA7, LBA48). Now I really want to know what the difference is between the Sandisk and the Transcend cards. The specs for the Transcend card are here BTW: https://www.transcend-info.com/product/m...tflash-800

Not sure it's your drive dear @pcwrd13, sega rally 2 jap and pal don't boot anymore for me and ooga booga with echelon hack neither...

EDIT :

I should get back to 2 previous version frome 14/12/23 to be able to boot sega rally 2 again.

I install the last release again and I continue the tests.

EDIT 2 still with hdd ssd and "high" mode :

toy commander : the game starts but the console reboot just after
Atomiswave faster than speed : black screen
nba2K : black screen after intro
msr : freeze during race loading
sega rally 2 : no boot
Virtua cop 2 : no boot
The flinstones : no boot
Homebrews : run very well (xeno crisis and zia) except cdda distorsion after a while
kao the kangaroo : runs pretty well, really fluent, except cdda distorsion after a while but step by step the cdda is running better. If you finally can find a new way of sync, it will be probably perfect
sturmwind : still error disc after boot
Half life : error text after boot

Menu : very fast and now the arrow is really great to use and we can see the text of the new windows during small loadings like "games" for examples, it's very nice.
There is also a preset suggest, very nice too, seems the cdda preset is now saved.

Since you have update the boot mode and put the memory default preset at 0x8c004000 instead of 0x8c000100, the hdd ssd loses compatibility.
It's probably now very optimized for CF, I'll try it.

I have exactly the same results with my CF :?
Except virtua cop 2 : reboot instead of black screen...
what's your preset for ooga booga and nba2k please...

I also started to experience some issues for sega rally 2 and some other, I’m figuring it out.
sturmwind - need boot it from IP.BIN and high memory. And it must be patched for IDE as some other homebrews.

I know why this happen for 0x8c004000 or high memory for IDE, I'll fix it.
And no, I don't optimize for CF only.

NBA, NHL and Ooga Booga should works with default preset.

- Fixed most new boot issues
- Fixed difference between 0x8c004000 and 0x8c000100/0x8c001100 for IDE loader in some cases.

My tests:
Works: Half-Life (with mods), Sega Rally 2, UT, Q3, Rez, Planetweb 3, NBA2k2, Ooga Booga, MSR, Super Runabout, Nightmare Creatures, Urban Chaos (works only without CDDA/IRQ)
Not works: NHL2k2 (but I boot it earlier...)

Tested on the Sandisk CF but no difference for me with the VC games. Still just a black screen for Ooga Booga and black screen after the intro movies for the NFL/NBA 2K2 games.

I'll be getting a replacement for the Transcend CF as it was still under warranty so I'll be able to test again with that soon. Would love to get the Sandisk fully working though as it's a more reliable brand.

Is there a different part of the loader for the boot ans reading datas in game ?
Because when they boot, the games are running very well.

Just tried it but didn't see any difference with NBA 2K2. Still just a black screen after the first intro.

I could be able to finish sega rally 2 arcade mode !!!

This last release is very efficient :

Sega rally 2 pal : now run perfectly whouhou !!!
Sega rally 2 jap : I had a freeze may be du to not perfect memory preset or a cdda out of sync that could freeze sometimes
Virtua cop 2 : run like a charm

unreal tournament and the flinstones : run with SQ only, if you fix unreal with DMA TMU 1 you'll fix both games and others closed to those ones. After that you'll can removed SQ mode and win spaces as you said. Easy to write, very less to do...

tom jam and earl 3 and ooga booga : doesn't boot, maybe the difference with 0.6.11_se is the size of the loader ?

I use too many times with sega rally 2 haha so happy to enjoy it with the precious dreamshell. Thank you to all.

SQ preset is not saved.
cdda still have distorsion unfortunately.

I wouldn't rush it. There is definitely some other difference in compatibility among those who are testing.
But there is a possibility that some devices process command aborting differently.
In low-level works on this CF?

Same issue with CF and hdd ssd...
May I should defragment my devices ?
Do you use the iso made by @megavolt85 and available here ?
Or I lose my default preset :
True dma, no IRQ, OS auto, boot mode direct, fast or normal boot, low memory or 0x8c004000.
What's wrong...
