88AS8040 IDE2SATA Chip

Hi.
A few months ago i developed one pcb called Dream IDe Reborn and i
registered here first to thanks to SWAT and your team, because if was not for Dreamshell, this job never was out of paper.

Second because i want to share something.
Another day Me and Alexsandro (aldair) was talking about SATA adapters compatibility.

The simple green adapter has a small chip and i dont understand why this same adapter dont works if you just connect it with a ide cable, but works if you solder short wires.
Even in my pcb, without wires, this same adapter didnt works.

So, later i was looking a schematics of Startech´s adapter because it basically works if any console without problems. Works like a charm includes with my pcb:





So, i was looking for chip diagram to try to understand things and i found one scheme in a ps3devwiki site:

My job here is fix consoles and when i look that i jump from my chair and get a dead ps3 board in my shelf.

Take out original chip from an ide2sata bidirectional (this is NOT work in any console, because it haven´t master/slave selector - just "ide2sata" or "sata2ide") and soldered ps3 chip in place:










And it works like a charm!
PS3 chip code is 88A08040, Startech´s Adapter is 88AS8052. But both is same family, i checked pins before solder and runs ok.
Tested with 3,5" Western Digital 500gb Sata and 1,5", without any problem!

So i believe its a solution if you got a cheap ps3 dead board and already have ide mod installed.
