apps hang on SATA seem to work fine on IDE - help

Wierd thing is GDPLAY and GDRIPPER both freeze at the loading splash using STARTECH IDE2SAT2 but they seem to work fine from CF Card ... Same DS files what could be causing this it's making me crazy???
